Awesome Poem Written by Me!!!!

Woah. Stop. I know what you're thinking. "Maia, how many posts are you gonna put on today???" I'm sorry, okay??!! I just have a lot to write this particular day. I have a poem that I wrote that for some reason ended up sounding like Dr. Seuss. No I am not a Dr. Seuss wannabe!!!!

"The Crazy Hat Collecter"

There was once an old man who lived in a tree.

But it was an extremely big one, you see.

Yet this little man didn't have any room,

For a bed, a window, or even a broom.

For inside his cute little make-shift home,

He had shelves upon shelves, which held, it was known,

Hats upon hats, it was quite a sight!

This surreal spectacle would give you a fright!

Hats on the floor, hung from the ceiling.

Setting foot in that house would send you reeling!

You'd trip over berets, top hats, sombreros,

And whimsical beanies topped with stuffed sparrows!

Cowboy hats, bowler hats, fedoras, a fez,

But to your look of astonishment, the old man just says,

"Ah, don't you love my ostentatious collection?

Feel free to come in and give an inspection!

I don't charge a fee, so do please come through.

My crazy hats are sure to allure you!"

As you come closer, you will see,

That you'll want to cry out, "Oh, dearie me!"

You will see baseball caps covered in fur,

And as you look around, your eyes start to blur,

When you see the button-covered bandanas,

And huge balaclavas with pictures of bananas!

Graceless veils with paper money sewn on,

And helmets covered in grass from a lawn!

You stare at the man, eyeing his hats with conceit.

Know this: You'll be lucky never to meet,

The mentally touched head-gear detector,

The infamous Crazy Hat Collector.
